So… what exactly is Stake Conference?
Think of it as the whole stake family gathering together to worship, learn and strengthen one another. The General Handbook puts the purpose very simply: the primary purpose of stake conference is to strengthen members' faith in Jesus Christ.
Each year
Stake conference is normally held twice each year.

We gather to worship and be strengthened in our discipleship of Jesus Christ.
Everyone is welcome
The Sunday general session is open to members, friends and anyone who would like to attend.
A tent. Its cords. Its stakes.
“Enlarge the place of thy tent… lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.”
Isaiah 54:2
Isaiah uses the picture of a great tent being enlarged and strengthened by its stakes. Latter-day Saint scripture carries that imagery forward: the stakes of Zion are to be “for a defense, and for a refuge from the storm.” Doctrine and Covenants 115:6
This gives the name a beautiful meaning: a stake is more than an administrative grouping. It is part of the Lord's pattern of gathering and strengthening His people.

Your local congregation, led by a bishop.
Stake
A group of wards in a geographic area, led by a stake president.
Stake Conference
A special time when members across the stake gather for instruction, worship and fellowship.
Before. During. After.
Before
Prepare spiritually. Pray about questions you carry. Invite family, friends or someone who could use encouragement. Come ready to listen.
During
Expect hymns, prayers and gospel messages. Listen for impressions from the Holy Ghost. Children attend the Sunday general session with their families.
After
Ask yourself: What did I feel? What did I learn? What will I do? Write down one impression and act on it.
You can simply come.
No special knowledge is required. No need to worry about knowing when to stand or what happens next. We'll be glad you're there.
Do I have to be a Church member?
No. The Sunday general session is for all members and others who would like to attend.
What should I wear?
Come in clothing you feel is appropriate for worship. Many people will be in Sunday dress, but you do not need special clothing to attend.
Can I bring my children?
Yes. Children attend the Sunday general session with their families.
Will I be asked to speak?
No surprise assignment. Come, sit where you are comfortable, sing if you wish, and listen.
What happens in the meeting?
Expect hymns, prayers and messages focused on Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Conference schedule
Stake & Ward Council Meeting
Saturday · 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
A leadership session for invited stake and ward council members. Leaders receive instruction and counsel together about helping individuals and families participate in God's work of salvation and exaltation.
Adult Session
Saturday · 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
A conference session especially for adult members of the stake. It provides an opportunity for gospel instruction and messages intended to strengthen faith in Jesus Christ and discipleship.
Sunday General Session
Sunday · 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon
The main conference gathering for the whole stake. All members and others who would like to attend are invited. Families worship together through hymns, prayers and gospel messages.
